Type the text, pick how many copies you want and what goes between them, and the repeated result appears ready to copy. For example, Hi repeated 3 times with spaces gives Hi Hi Hi, which is 8 characters: three 2-letter copies plus two spaces.

About this tool

Repeating a phrase by hand is slow and easy to miscount when you need filler rows for a spreadsheet test, a line of emoji for a chat, or the same placeholder string fifty times for a form test. This repeater builds the output while you edit, with copies separated by line breaks, spaces, commas or nothing at all. Beside the text it reports the total characters, words and lines, so you can check the result against a field limit before pasting it. Emoji and accented letters count as one character each. The output is capped at 200,000 characters to keep the browser responsive, so very long passages allow fewer repetitions.

How to use it

  1. Enter the text

Type or paste a word, phrase or several lines, or open a .txt file from your device.

  2. Set the count

Use the − and + buttons or type a number from 1 to 1000.

  3. Choose the separator

Pick New line, Space, Comma or Nothing to set what sits between copies.

  4. Copy the output

Check the character count against your target field, then copy the repeated text.

Examples

Hi, three times with spaces

Text to repeat
Hi
Repeat
3
Between copies
Space

Result Repeated text: Hi Hi Hi
Characters: 8
Words: 3
Lines: 1

  1. One copy has 2 characters; the separator is a space (1 characters).
  2. Total = 2 × 3 + 1 × 2 = 8 characters.

Three copies and two spaces between them make 8 characters on one line.

A comma-separated chant

Text to repeat
go
Repeat
3
Between copies
Comma

Result Repeated text: go, go, go
Characters: 10
Words: 3
Lines: 1

  1. One copy has 2 characters; the separator is a comma and space (2 characters).
  2. Total = 2 × 3 + 2 × 2 = 10 characters.

Each gap is a comma plus a space, so two gaps add 4 characters to the 6 letters.

A phrase on separate lines

Text to repeat
Hello world
Repeat
2
Between copies
New line

Result Repeated text: Hello world
Hello world
Characters: 23
Words: 4
Lines: 2

  1. One copy has 11 characters; the separator is a line break (1 characters).
  2. Total = 11 × 2 + 1 × 1 = 23 characters.

Two lines of 11 characters plus one line break give 23 characters and 4 words.

How it is calculated

characters = n × c + (n − 1) × s

n
number of copies
c
characters in one copy, counting each emoji or accented letter once
s
characters in the separator: 1 for a line break or space, 2 for a comma and space, 0 for nothing

The text is copied n times and the copies are joined with the chosen separator, which appears only between copies, never after the last one. Characters are counted as user-perceived graphemes, so a flag or a skin-toned emoji counts once even though it is stored as several code points. The word count is the words in one copy multiplied by n.

When not to use it

  • Do not use repeated text to pad essays or posts to a length requirement; reviewers and spam filters spot it.
  • For numbered or incrementing lists, such as Item 1 to Item 50, a list or sequence generator fits better.

Common mistakes

  • Forgetting that separators add characters, so 100 copies on new lines carry 99 extra characters.
  • Leaving a trailing space or line break in the input, which then appears inside every copy.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most text I can repeat?

The output is limited to 200,000 characters and 1000 copies. A 10-character word can therefore be repeated the full 1000 times, while a 500-character paragraph stops near 400 copies.

Do emoji count as one character?

Yes. The count uses grapheme clusters, so a family emoji or a flag counts as one character, matching what you see on screen. Some platforms, such as X, count certain emoji as two, so their limit may be reached sooner.

Is there a separator after the last copy?

No. The separator goes only between copies, so three copies with a comma give go, go, go with no trailing comma or line break.

Can I repeat several lines as a block?

Yes. Paste the block with its line breaks; each copy keeps them, and the New line separator places every copy on its own line after the previous block.

Why does WhatsApp or Instagram cut my repeated message?

Each app has its own message or caption limit, for example 2,200 characters for an Instagram caption. Check the Characters figure here and lower the repeat count until it fits.

Is the text I type stored?

No. The repetition happens in your browser and nothing is sent to a server or kept after you close the page.
