A prank call generator writes a ready-to-read script so you are not improvising on the phone. Type your friend's name, pick a scenario such as a lost llama or a singing pizza, and choose a tone. The straight-faced llama script runs 4 lines and 54 words, about 22 seconds at 150 words per minute.

About this tool

Most prank calls fall apart in the first ten seconds because the caller laughs or runs out of things to say. This page gives you a numbered script to read from: an opening line with your friend's name in it, three follow-ups that escalate the silliness, and an optional reveal line where you say who you really are. Each scenario is deliberately absurd and harmless, with sock surveys, talkative llamas and pizzas with opinions, so nobody mistakes it for a real emergency or a money request. You also see the word count of each line and a speaking-time estimate at 150 words per minute. The scripts are fixed templates, so the same choices always give the same lines; for variety, switch scenario or tone.

How to use it

  1. Enter the names

Type the name of the person you are calling and the name you will give on the call. Sam is used if you leave the second one empty.

  2. Pick a scenario and tone

Choose one of four scenario cards, then Straight-faced for a deadpan call or Over the top for a sillier one.

  3. Keep or drop the reveal

The checkbox adds a final line where you admit the prank by name.

  4. Read from the table

Follow the numbered lines in order; the opening line is shown on its own at the top.

Examples

Found llama, straight-faced

Person you are calling
Alex
Name you give on the call
Sam
Scenario
Found llama
Tone
Straight-faced
End with a reveal line
No

Result Opening line: Hi, is this Alex? This is Sam, I think I found your llama.
Scenario: Found your llama
Script lines: 4
Words: 54
Speaking time: 22 s

  1. Script lines: 4
  2. Speaking time = 54 words ÷ 150 words per minute × 60 = 22 seconds

Four calm lines about a hedge-eating llama, short enough to read in under half a minute.

Over-the-top pizza call with a reveal

Person you are calling
Priya
Name you give on the call
Omar
Scenario
Pizza order
Tone
Over the top
End with a reveal line
Yes

Result Opening line: Hello, Priya? This is Omar, head of pizza security at Slice Palace.
Scenario: Wrong-number pizza order
Script lines: 5
Words: 71
Speaking time: 28 s

  1. Script lines: 5 (including the reveal)
  2. Speaking time = 71 words ÷ 150 words per minute × 60 = 28 seconds

Five lines ending with the caller giving their real name, so the joke closes cleanly.

When not to use it

  • Do not call strangers, workplaces, or anyone who may be anxious about unexpected calls.
  • Do not adapt the scripts to impersonate police, hospitals, banks or any real authority.

Common mistakes

  • Laughing during the opening line, which gives the joke away before it starts.
  • Dropping the reveal and leaving the other person confused after the call.
  • Recording the call and sharing it without the other person's agreement.

Frequently asked questions

Are these prank calls safe to make?

The scripts are written to be obviously silly: talking pizzas, a goat named Kevin, socks with new jobs. None ask for money, personal details or passwords, and none pretend to be an official body. Call only friends who enjoy this kind of joke, and use the reveal line.

How is the speaking time worked out?

Each line's words are counted, added up, and divided by 150 words per minute, a typical relaxed conversational pace, then converted to seconds. Real calls run longer because the other person talks too.

Why do I get the same script every time?

Each scenario and tone pair is a fixed template, which keeps the lines predictable and easy to practise. Changing the scenario or switching between Straight-faced and Over the top gives you a different script.

Is it legal to record a prank call?

Rules on recording phone calls differ by country and state; some require every person on the call to agree. Ask the person afterwards before keeping or sharing any recording.

What does the reveal line do?

It ends the call by saying the friend's name, giving your real name and admitting it was a prank. Ending this way stops the joke from turning into genuine confusion or worry.

What name is used if I skip the caller name?

The script uses Sam. Pick a name your friend will not recognise straight away if you want the call to last a little longer.
