List your post ideas one per line, choose the weekdays you publish and a start date, and the planner gives each idea its own date and time. Four ideas posted Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Monday 12 October 2026 run to Monday 19 October, eight days in total.

About this tool

Most accounts stall not for lack of ideas but because the ideas never get a date. This planner takes a plain list, one idea per line, and lays it onto the weekdays you actually post, starting from the date you choose. Prefix a line with Reel:, Carousel:, Photo:, Story: or Live: to lock its format, or let untagged lines rotate through Reel, Carousel and Photo so the grid does not repeat one format for a week. The table shows each post's number, date, time, format and idea, and the summary gives the first and last dates, the number of days the plan covers and the format mix. It does not publish anything or connect to Instagram: copy the schedule into your calendar or scheduling app. It also ignores holidays and time zones, so adjust those by hand.

How to use it

  1. List your ideas

Type one idea per line, or open a text file. Blank lines are skipped. Start a line with a format tag such as Reel: to fix its format.

  2. Set the start date and time

The first post lands on the first chosen weekday on or after this date. The time is copied onto every row.

  3. Pick posting days

Select the weekday chips you publish on. Three days a week gives a different end date than five.

  4. Choose how untagged lines are handled

Leave them as plain posts, or rotate them through Reel, Carousel and Photo.

The tagged Story keeps its format; the two untagged lines take Reel and then Carousel from the rotation.

When not to use it

  • Do not use it to publish posts; it only produces a dated list.
  • It does not account for public holidays or campaign blackout dates.
  • Posting times are not converted between time zones.

Common mistakes

  • Putting two ideas on one line, which schedules them as a single post.
  • Writing a tag without the colon, such as Reel tour, so the format is not detected.
  • Choosing a start date that is not a posting day and expecting the first post on that exact date.

Frequently asked questions

How does the planner pick the first date?

It starts at your chosen date and moves forward to the first weekday you selected. If you start on a Thursday but only post on Saturdays, the first post goes on that Saturday.

Which format tags does it recognise?

Reel, Carousel, Photo, Story and Live, written at the start of the line and followed by a colon, in any letter case. The tag is removed from the idea text in the table and counted in the format mix.

What does rotating formats do?

Untagged lines are assigned Reel, Carousel and Photo in turn. Tagged lines keep their own format and do not advance the rotation, so a Story in the middle of the list does not skip a Reel.

How many posts a week should a small account plan?

There is no single figure. Many small accounts settle on three to five feed posts a week because it is a pace they can sustain. Pick the number of days you can keep up for a month, then adjust after you see how the posts perform.

Is there a limit on the number of ideas?

Up to 200 non-empty lines per plan. At three posts a week that is more than a year of content, which is usually more than a team can keep relevant.

Does it post to Instagram or save my plan?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere. Copy the table into a spreadsheet, calendar or scheduling app to keep it.

Why does the plan cover more days than I have posts?

Days covered counts every calendar day from the first post to the last, including days you do not post. Four posts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday span eight days.
